Dr. Collins Korbla Tay has been sworn in as the newly appointed director of the Soil Research Institute for the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR-SRI) in Ghana and has pledged to work collaboratively with all key stakeholders to promote innovative soil management practices in the country.
He replaces the outgoing Acting Director Gabriel Willie Quansah, who expressed his profound gratitude to staff and other officials for support and cooperation during his tenure of office in various capacities for 32 years.
Dr. Tay in his acceptance speech assured to help build the capacity of Soil Research Institute to consolidate the gains of the CSIR.
‘Generating technologies, commercializing them, and building capacities for sustainable soil management in Ghana requires collective efforts of research scientists and experts’, he said.
He promised to accept the challenges with the mandate and said that he would need the unwavering support of the staff to succeed.
Director-General of CSIR, Professor Paul Pinnock Bosu, advised the new Director to work tirelessly and ensure success for himself by having a personal vision for the Institute and Ghana.
